It's all about affordable treasures
Amphora offers brand new high-end home furnishings and accessories all at wholesale or below. Professional delivery and set up is included (within a 15 mile radius). The catch is that there is usually only one of something, so you must shop often as the merchandise changes almost daily. Think of it as a treasure hunt.
In the Chicago Tribune, Karen Klages wrote,
"In ancient Greece and Rome, an amphora was a two-handled jar used to hold a variety of things, including wine and oil. It was a little treasure and every household (rich or poor) had at least one. And so, Amphora seems a fitting name for a new home furnishings shop in uptown Park Ridge.
It's all about affordable treasures at this gem of a 900-square-foot shop. Former set designer Debi Spellman (who co-owns the place with business partner Diane Annes) digs up manufacturers' samples, prototypes, closeouts and discontinued merchandise in her travels to upscale furniture showrooms in North Carolina and right here in Chicago, in the hallowed halls of The Merchandise Mart.
The result: a constantly changing assortment of high-end goods that, most important, are priced at deep discounts."
